Role Description:
As an Application Engineer (AE) at Flipkart, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless functioning of our complex and distributed systems. You will serve as a subject matter expert for specific software stacks, ensuring application health, optimizing performance, and resolving help desk tickets within SLA guidelines.
Your responsibilities will include debugging code, implementing long-term bug fixes, and collaborating with product management and development teams to achieve operational excellence. This role demands high ownership, a customer-first attitude, and the ability to learn quickly and multitask effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Perform analyses on software application functionality and suggest improvements.
- Ensure application health of front-end and back-end applications.
- Identify and automate self-serve tools, implement fixes, enhancements, and minor features.
- Provide software application support for all owned applications, consulting with internal stakeholders to improve performance.
- Manage code migration across environments and establish root causes of application errors for permanent fixes.
- Escalate serious issues and keep records of configuration changes and updates.
- Document processes and monitor application performance metrics.
- Provide support to clients and colleagues in other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field.
- 1.5-4 years of demonstrable experience as an application engineer.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux and scripting languages (Unix/JavaScript).
- Advanced knowledge of front-end and back-end programming languages (C++, Java, Python, Ruby, etc.).
- Ability to manage code migration, document changes, and monitor performance.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and communication abilities.
Desirable Skills:
Troubleshooting, Problem Solving, Product Engineering.
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka.
Education/Qualification: B.Tech or Masters degree or equivalent.
Years Of Experience: 2 to 4 Years.
