Job Description
As a Lead Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing expert-level technical support for our network security products. You will handle customer technical escalations, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and contribute to the development of technical knowledge base articles.
What You Will Do
Expert Technical Support:
- Provide expert technical support for network security products.
- Handle customer technical escalations effectively.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by customers.
- Recreate, track, and verify software defects in the field or lab conditions.
Knowledge Sharing:
- Author technical knowledge base articles for use by internal teams, customers, and partners.
Requirements
Advanced Networking Skills:
- Detailed understanding of IP service provider networks and strong network security skills.
- TCP/IP fundamentals.
- IP subnetting and supernetting, hierarchical routing principles.
- Routing protocol operation (BGP), routing policies at BGP peering points.
- VPNs and associated tunneling technologies (GRE/IP, L2TP, MPLS).
- Hands-on configuration and operational knowledge of Cisco and Juniper routers.
- Hands-on understanding and knowledge of Netflow, SNMP.
Security Skills:
- DDOS, IPS, IDS, threat detection, and mitigation.
Operating Systems:
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Linux.
Database:
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of databases – postgres, sqlite.
Scripting:
- Good to have experience with scripting languages such as shell, Python, Perl, or PHP.
Other Skills:
- Strong customer focus with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and customer personnel.
- Outstanding customer service and advanced written and verbal communication skills.
