About the Job:
Intel Labs is seeking a motivated researcher specializing in parallel and distributed computing, particularly applied to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High-Performance Computing (HPC).
This full-time position is within the Parallel Computing Lab, an application-driven architecture research lab focused on pushing the computational frontier through emerging applications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Development:
- Conceive, research, and prototype new parallel and distributed computing algorithms and frameworks with an emphasis on AI.
- Develop relevant software and hardware technologies aiming to convert these into marketable products to drive Intel’s growth.
- Algorithm and Tool Development:
- Devise approaches and tools to address the needs of the most challenging compute- and data-intensive applications.
- Develop and enable breakthrough algorithms in application domains constrained by massive computational scales.
- Hardware-Software Co-design:
- Drive future architectures and technologies through HW-SW co-design.
- Develop middleware and compiler techniques to deliver performance productively.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with leading academic and industry partners to accomplish Intel’s mission.
- Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
- Contribute regularly to scientific literature and the research community.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- PhD or MS Research in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant engineering discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in machine learning or AI-related research.
- 1-3 years of experience with Xeon or GPU programming, performance profiling, characterization, and architecture-specific optimizations.
- 1-3 years of experience in HW-SW co-design, system architecture, and performance optimization.
- 1-3 years of experience in compiler techniques.
