Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented Product Designer II to join our team, focusing specifically on Database Migration services.
As part of this role, you’ll be instrumental in transferring data from one database system to another, whether it’s transitioning from on-premise to cloud-based platforms or migrating between different database management systems.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to Team Growth: Collaborate with fellow designers to strengthen and expand our design team. This includes sharing insights, providing feedback, and participating in team initiatives to enhance overall performance and capabilities.
- Ensure Consistency: Work with other designers to maintain consistency across all user experiences within the Azure Data engineering team. By adhering to established design principles and guidelines, you’ll contribute to a cohesive and unified product ecosystem.
- Communicate Design Direction: Effectively communicate design direction to team members, senior management, and stakeholders. This involves articulating design decisions, rationale, and strategies in a clear and compelling manner to ensure alignment and buy-in from all stakeholders.
- User-Centric Design: Ensure that design decisions are driven by user needs, tasks, marketing strategies, and business requirements. By conducting user research, gathering feedback, and understanding user pain points, you’ll play a pivotal role in crafting intuitive and impactful experiences for our customers.
- Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with development, program management, and user research teams to ensure successful design implementation. By fostering a collaborative and cross-functional approach, you’ll facilitate seamless communication, alignment, and execution throughout the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with 3+ years of experience in product or service design, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft’s security screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in visual design, problem-solving, and collaboration.
- Understanding of technical constraints, user goals, and business requirements.
- Familiarity with design tools like Figma or Sketch, and rapid prototyping platforms such as Invision or Principle.
- Experience contributing to structured design systems.
- Additional skills in information visualization, illustration, motion graphics, or animation are a plus.
